Fictional Music Channel
Peter Chadwick eminent music artwork designer (Screamadelica cover) set us a nice brief to create a brand identity and campaign for a music channel. Bhav Mistry and me went for an arty video and music channel. Like Sky Arts crossed with 6Music. I just got a new camera and me and Bhav went all over shooting. Scoping out locations reminded me of snowboarding shoots. Really good collabloration. I learned a few things and had a great time, type on DVD got rightly slated but was too tired to make it lower case. The shots were inspired by Gregory Crewesdon and the Albert Camus novel ‘The Outsider’. Cheers Danny
Flaw Show Poster Campaign
These are the posters for our Campaign, they will be developed as we move forward but this is the basis of it. The concept is of being on first name terms with the designers and them telling you stories of things that went wrong. We hope to put on a show of annecdotes, we have one fron Stephan Sagmeister and will be collecting more over the coming months, culminating in Richard Prince “joke paintings” style screen prints shown at chelsea college of art.

Drinking and Drawing in Paris
This is my artist edition postcard, the brief is open to just two things, the editions in Chelsea Library and the rules. I chose smoking because the french love a ciggie, but that was added on the computer.
I wanted to do drawings on hotel paper while I was travelling. Inspired by Kippenberger who in turn got the idea from Picasso, although I dont think he was inspired more amused the critics thought it was so great.
I did the earlier one in Florence of my wife sleeping but it was a hoax because The paper isn’t from that hotel.
This one is the real deal, we went to the Pompidou which was closed for strikes. The French love a strike, among other things. We stumbled on a great restaurant named after Victor Hugo, I love anyone who has championed the arts. So I took the restaurant card which had a photo of him on it and drew it on the hotel note paper.
I did it in graphite because the photo is from around 1880 by Nadar and is mostly tonal, I was drunk on good French wine by the time I finished it.
Kippenberger & Me
Francesca 09
Kippenberger is an artist I admire a lot. His life was short but his output was great. Read ‘Martin Kippenberger -The problem perspective’ if you can. Below is a link to an interview with his friend and artist Albert Oehlen.
Kippenbergers hotel drawings book was in the special collection books at Chelsea library, the series is extensive and shows his undeniable skill as well as his mind. He got the idea from the press hailing Picasso for doing sketches for his paintings on Hotel note paper, which I assume he thought was nonsense.
We have a brief to produce fifty postcard prints inspired by the artist collections at Chelsea also alluding to ‘the rules’.
I have done one here but who knows what Paris will give me, I’ll post it when I get back.
Au revoir.
Interaction logo
This is the hundred logo’s that formed the ideas base for the interaction logo, the final one is in here but I added it later to see how small it woud go

Bit too late to get feed back but this is the final logo that represents interaction. We started by doing 100 logo’s in a mammoth 12 hour session. That range was key in developing the disparate elements along with understanding the nature of interaction. This direction presented itself late in the process.
It is inspired by the cyclical interactions that take place in everything from particle physics to human behaviour.
You, me and everything inbetween.
